Transitional Kindergarten is a strong start for young learners.
Albany Children's Center has 3 transitional kindergarten classrooms on site and before and after care as well.
Transitional Kindergarten is the "new"grade, and part of the Albany Unified School District. Transitional Kindergarten is a bridge between preschool and kindergarten for children turning 5 years old between September 1 and December 2. It gives young learners a jump start and provides them with the opportunity to learn and grow in an environment that is tailored to meet their academic and social needs. TK is part of the public school system and is free to parents. TK uses a unique, specialized curriculum based on the CDE ( California Department of Education) Preschool Curriculum Frameworks volumes 1, 2,and 3. Is taught by credentialed teachers with extra training to teach young children.
Hours: 8:30-1:00 pm Early Bird or 9:30-2:00 pm Late Bird. Lunch is served. Class size: 1-24 Shared Activities: TK participates in all kindergarten activities such as Music, Library, and PE throughout the year.
