Director's Message

June 11, 2023

Dear Families,

I am writing to introduce myself as the new Albany Children’s Center Director. I am excited to join this wonderful community and work with you to provide your children with the best possible start in life.

A little about myself; I grew up in Albany and graduated from Albany High School.  I received my undergraduate degree from UC Santa Cruz and my master’s degree from Cal State East Bay.  I have served in education for 25 years as a teacher and administrator.  I have taught most elementary grades, but spent the majority of my career as a Kindergarten teacher.  I love teaching and learning with children and am especially interested in early literacy.  I was the Program Coordinator for Early Childhood Education with Berkeley USD for 3 years before moving to Marin Elementary this past year to be the Assistant Principal there.

I have a passion for helping young children learn and grow. I believe that every child is unique and deserves a personalized learning experience. I am committed to creating a warm and nurturing environment where children can feel safe, supported, and challenged.

I am also committed to working with parents to create a strong partnership. I believe that parents are the child's first and most important teachers. I value your input and feedback, and I look forward to working with you to ensure that your child has a positive and successful experience at Albany Children’s Center

I am eager to get to know you and your child. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is [email protected] and I can be reached at (510) 559-6590

Sincerely,

Joshua Reed
