Dear Albany Community,
There was a great turnout throughout Albany for International Walk And Roll To School Day. The walking and rolling “school buses” run by parent volunteers will keep operating with continued volunteer support. Our community is focusing more on switching to active transportation for trips with the city, and AUSD encourages everyone to consider making this switch.
COVID Dashboard Update
In line with current guidance and surrounding school districts, we will no longer be maintaining a district COVID Dashboard. For staff, parents/guardians, and students who would like to stay apprised of current COVID trends, please find the Alameda County Department of Public Health information here. As a district, we will continue to monitor trends and follow guidance from the Alameda County Office of Education.
Monday Is Indigenous Peoples’ Day
Monday, October 9 is Indigenous Peoples’ Day, a federal holiday acknowledging the Indigenous people in the Americas and around the world. The Board will recognize November as National Native American Heritage Month with a resolution later this month. Students will get a day off school on Monday as our teachers and other staff work on honing their teaching skills. Elementary teachers will continue their literacy training through the Getting Reading Right program. Albany Middle School and Albany High School will focus on cultural competency training.
Albany's Pride—Rainbow Flag Chalking Social
Join Albany's Pride on Monday, October 9, 11:30am to chalk a rainbow Progress Pride flag at the Albany High School front steps at 603 Key Route, in advance of National Coming Out Day on October 11. Come dressed to get colorful from washable chalk and stay to chat with other members of Albany’s Pride, the AUSD LGBTQIA+ Affinity Group.

Querida comunidad de Albany,
Hubo una gran participación en todo Albany para el Día Internacional de Caminar y Rodar a la Escuela . Actualización del panel de control de COVID
De acuerdo con la orientación actual y los distritos escolares circundantes, ya no mantendremos un Panel de control COVID del distrito. El lunes es el día de los Pueblos Indígenas
El lunes 9 de octubre es el Día de los Pueblos Indígenas, un feriado federal que reconoce a los pueblos indígenas en las Américas y en todo el mundo. La Junta reconocerá noviembre como el Mes Nacional de la Herencia Nativa Americana con una resolución a finales de este mes. Los estudiantes tendrán un día libre el lunes mientras nuestros maestros y demás personal trabajan para perfeccionar sus habilidades docentes. Los maestros de primaria continuarán su capacitación en alfabetización a través del programa Getting Reading Right . Albany Middle School y Albany High School se centrarán en la capacitación en competencia cultural.

星期一是原住民日
10 月 9 日星期一是土著人民日，这是一个联邦假日，旨在表彰美洲和世界各地的土著人民。该委员会将在本月晚些时候做出决议，将 11 月定为全国美洲原住民传统月。周一，学生们将放假一天，因为我们的老师和其他工作人员将努力磨练他们的教学技能。小学教师将通过“正确阅读”计划继续进行读写能力培训。奥尔巴尼中学和奥尔巴尼高中将侧重于文化能力培训。
