OV Mandarin Language Program
Program Description:
Ocean View Mandarin Language school program is a part of Albany Children’s Center. OV Mandarin language serves children in first-fifth grade, providing high quality school-age care after the elementary school day.
This program involves teaching the students listening, speaking, reading and writing in Simplified Chinese characters. We have several levels from beginning to level three. Students who start from kindergarten in this program will go through all four levels based upon the book Zhong Wen.
Ocean View Mandarin language also has many activities to support the students in developing Chinese art and culture. Students will learn Chinese poems, Chinese songs, Chinese dance, and relate every holiday with art projects involving Mandarin language words. Every Lunar New Year, we have our performance for all of the parents and our community in the OV multipurpose room. Additionally, we participate in two Chinese New Year Celebrations at the Albany Community Center and the Albany Theater. At the end of each school year the Ocean View Mandarin language program will participate in the school-wide talent show.

Program Schedule:
The morning, before care, program is available 7:30-9:30. Breakfast snack is provided during the morning hours.
The afternoon, after care, program is open 2:00-6:00. Afternoon snack is provided during the afternoon hours.
